Matt Palmo is a self-taught artist whose distinctive paintings feature the use of resplendent light and vivid colors contrasted against the darkness of apocalyptic themes and surreal imagery. His work is deeply spiritual and has been featured in juried shows and art galleries throughout western New York and in artistic hubs such as New York City, Los Angeles, and Naples, Italy.

Palmo is the founder of IndicatorArt, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to empowering individuals with developmental disabilities through creative experiences. (www.indicatorart.org) Since its’ founding in 2013, hundreds of individuals have participated in IndicatorArt workshops, producing thousands of paintings.

Palmo is an Artist in Residence on the historic Roycroft campus in East Aurora, NY. His studio, which is open to the public, is located in the Roycroft Campus Antiques store at 37 South Grove St.  

He lives on a farm near East Aurora with his wife, son, and dog.
